Here are some notes on assembling.
To start I glue the three sections of the staff together and glue the blades. These are very strait forward, but sometimes don’t meet up 100% flush. If they don’t you can always add some Bondo, epoxy, super glue, wood putty, drywall putty… to close the gap. I used super glue to glue together and some drywall putty for the gap.
The axe head is the similar, I assemble the left and right just by gluing the posts in the holes. Once dried, I glue the left and right side together and clamp the base and the back for a firm hold.
Now we have the main components glued and ready to get painted. The order doesn’t matter, but I start by painting the handle, then the head, then the blade and the blade peg. Epoxy or super glue to fix the handle to the head. Once set put the blade on and glue the post that runs in the middle.
Finish with some coats of polyurethane and if you want to do a wash now would be the time. After the wash do another coat or two of poly.
