This is a lovely little hat which would work well for day or evening wear.
Made in the 1950’s and labelled “Burdines, Sunshine Fashions” it is a close fitting piece which is made from cream felt. A sort of small beret with a rigid brim, the crown is divided into 4 sections and each section is beaded with bronze or graphite coloured faceted beads. It is trimmed with pale brown velvet piping and has a decorative band which crosses over on the front right of the hat.
Measurements
It will work on a 21″ head but no bigger.
Inner band 19.5″
Width 7.5″
Depth 8.5″
Condition
Good with minor points to note;
– there are three areas of discolouration on the top of the hat in the beaded section and one small mark on the back
– two moth grazes to the upper layer of the felt
